Entrusted to our priests is the paramount duty to guide us on the celestial path, yet the youth groups within our sanctuaries teeter on the edge, threatening to transform into mere social clubs where the essence of Jesus is confined to the chapel’s solitude.
As Mortals Prone to Sin,
We are urged to employ the gift of intellect bestowed upon us by God. The ardent endeavor to keep the temptations of the devil at bay within our sacred walls requires vigilance. This is a narrative, a parent’s odyssey, as seen through the eyes of a humble and perhaps slightly bewildered father
In our roles as fathers, we are designated as the bishops of our homes, and mothers, as the guardians of our progeny. Throughout the annals of the Bible, a resounding call echoes for the protection of our children. How are we faring on this sacred duty? Do we merely use youth groups as a form of daycare, or do we actively participate, discerning the undertones of their activities?
Evil, as declared in the Bible lurks ubiquitously. It is incumbent upon us to be aware and take heed. Our youth groups should not transmute into arenas for frivolity, like stand-up comedy shows or clown performances. We, as parents, need to be present, bearing witness to the happenings within these sacred gatherings.
The narrow gate to heaven is a recurring motif in Scripture, a reminder that the perilous path can easily be overlooked. Let us not succumb to the wide interpretations some priests may propagate, staying vigilant against potential pitfalls for ourselves and our offspring. Our eyes must be wide open to discern the dangers masked as teachings.
The youth group, ideally, should be a haven for learning about Jesus, infused with the joy of the Bible translated into engaging activities. It should not morph into a dance club or a mere book review session. Instead of fiction, let the narratives center around the lives of Saints, guiding the young souls towards the virtuous path.
In the shadows, the devil persistently schemes, making it imperative for us to extend our prayers daily, especially for our priests who are at the forefront of this spiritual battlefield. We must scrutinize the actions of our spiritual leaders more than their sermons, ensuring that their deeds align with the teachings of Christ.
Every moment of our day should be a testament to our unwavering devotion to Christ, for in doing so, we not only draw nearer to His heart but also fortify the shield that guards our children. As the complexities of the world intensify, it becomes paramount to protect our offspring from the encroaching secular forces.
